[DeTomaso] Strange electrical issue - is it time for a new starter?

The instructions do warn about leaving the switch on when the car is not in use. However, I have left it on for two days without any impact to starting my mustang. Several hours does not bother me at all but a week would probably be troublesome. I actually like Kirby's suggestion below. I will look into this and maybe incorporate the latching solenoid into the system.

Forest is right. You don't want it sucking your battery constantly.
I use this one.
You need to use a momentary switch to make it latch.
