[DeTomaso] Strange electrical issue - is it time for a new starter?

following up on my "starter clicking" issue - you guys were right: I
removed the battery disconnect switch, and the car started a total of 7
times this weekend w/o a problem. Now I will search for a better
disconnect switch, as I like to isolate the battery when not driving the
car (mostly Sunday night - Saturday morning). Thanks for the help!

My Pantera has an Interstate, nothing special battery that is at
least 5 years old. From May thru Oct my car will start everytime,
anytime with one or two weeks between starts no problems and the
battery is hooked up all the time.
During winter Nov - Apr I disconnect the battery Negative wire and
hook up a Ctek battery tender($87CDN). I've done this for the last
three years. No problems.
Your battery should hold a hooked up charge for two weeks.
