>>>Yes, as I said, I was talking about GT5 and GT5-S, and the STOCK tires,
345/35-15 etc.....

23.5 inch tall front, 24.1 in the rear. That's one of the reasons those
cars look so much wider, because they are so low to the ground. When you
see a stock narrow-body Pantera on original-spec tires, they positively
teeter and tower over the later cars. In Italy one year, I got to see a
bone-stock pushbutton Pantera parked next to a very stock GT5. I meant to
take a photo to show the contrast, but didn't get around to it, and the
pushbutton owner took off and didn't participate in the rest of the event.
Very sad for me, because it was a beautiful example of a 'standard' car from
the first 50 or so built, complete with two-spoke steering wheel, two
headlight switches, etc. etc.

******It's hard to appreciate in this photo, but you can see what Mike is
talking about if you look at details. For a while I had both a 72 pre-L and
a GT5-S, but don't have a lot of pictures of the two side-by-side. (the
picture was taken in France, while the pre-L had US plates and the 5-S had
Spanish plates..)

Look at rear bumper height, rear brake light height, the line formed by the
rear decklid/trunk opening etc. The 5-S on stock Campy rims is quite a bit
lower than the '72 on stock Campy rims.

Ignore the guy standing in the middle.
