[DeTomaso] Don Byars and what he did to me and my Pantera

That's a lot of dirty laundry. Don might have a reason for being late and
the cost overruns. Life interruptions are not an excuse but it might be a
reason. He does owe you an itemized list of what they were but it sounds
like both of you might be too angry to take care of this.

One of my friends bought an ancient hearse and wanted it fixed up. Another
friend was starting up a small car restoration shop and gave a quote to fix
the hearse and money changed hands.

The shop owner was in *way* over his head and sold the motor out of the
hearse to try to cover costs. The project was delayed and delayed. Then
they stopped speaking to each other. Because of the contract, the shop
owner really needed to eat the cost and deliver the hearse as promised but
that never happened.

Years later one of his shop helpers got jazzed about actually finishing
such a cool ride and sanded all the paint off. Instead of sealing the car
in primer and paint, it was moved outside to make room for other projects.
It sits outside still... rusting. And my friends still don't talk.
Neither one is happy.

I'm glad you have your car but communication is so important for these
jobs. It looks like that ran into problems and was never repaired. Cant
fix that with money but I hope you can at least resolve why it went down
this way. I really doubt that Don is happy about it either.
