[DeTomaso] Hot Start Issue

Sounds like you are too advanced.

There are -two- things you need to pay attention to when re-installing a 
distributor.
- Position of the rotor
- position of the vacuum advance.

When putting the dizzy into the hole, the rotor is going to turn as it 
goes in.  This is because both the dizzy gear and the gear on the cam 
are angled.  So if you thought you had lined up the rotor, then pressed 
the housing all the way in, the rotor would then be off by one tooth.  
Something to consider.

If you are pinging at low speed, it sounds like you are way too advanced.
