[DeTomaso] Hot Start Issue

Yes the electrical system is a possibility and a hot starter is a 
possibility, but....
When you tune for power you take the ignition advance out what it will 
sustain, without detonation,
  at your worst case low RPM and open throttle combination.
Often that turns out to give you the hot start Asa Jay is talking about 
and you can
- live with it
- dial it back a couple of degrees
- get a distributor that lets you change the curve for less initial advance
- get a gear-reduction starter (but I think you have one of those already).
