[DeTomaso] LPC: Radar in the rain

Yes, but where I live the fine for possession (not use, possession) of a radar detector is €2400. The fine for 149 k/hr is €100, with no impact on insurance rates, license, etc. From 150 k/hr it is up to €300, and then things start to get really serious. But a detector is considered a far worse offence then just about any speed, so my detector has stayed home since they changed the law...

I would surmise that if the police radar can see you in the rain, then a
good radar detector can see their signal just as well.

Limited Pantera content - do radar guns work in the rain? How heavy does it
have to rain before they stop working? How much does it have to rain before
the radar waves get blocked by the raindrops and can't get through to your
car and back? Or for all intents and purposes, if there is enough water
falling to block the radar waves then you have no business driving anyway?

Had a 7 hour drive today and had lots of time to wonder.
