Gentlemen--
Just replaced the rubber on my 73L (campy wheels, 8x15F and 10x15R,
stock motor with a Holley 650 Street HP/Dog Bone and headers)
Pirelli PZero's up front, Avon CR6ZZ's behind me.
After changing my shorts, I am happy to report that these "tyres"
stick like glue. Last weekend I headed up to the tightest, most
deserted winding road I could find and drove #5909 as fast as I dared,
and then even faster. The car never broke traction, not even a little
bit. Some turns had a bit of gravel on them from a rainstorm the
previous Tuesday, and still the car held tight. Never could I do this
with my previous tires (BFG TA's), not even close.
It's like these tyres have taken my car to another level. Already I
was delighted with my Pantera, but now.....damn!
As for the Avons slinging gravel against the body, this appears to
have happened to some extent, but so far very minor. No chipping of
the paint is easily apparent.
Now we'll see what kind of mileage I get out of them...
