[DeTomaso] NPC 60's land speed record

Guys,
 
If you were around in the 1960's, safe to say 98% of us were, (I was just a
snot nose kid) you will remember the battle for the land speed record. I was
a fan of Craig Breedlove and his Spirit of America. It just looked cool to
an 8 year old.  So much that just a few years ago (20?) I jumped over the
velvet rope around the car in the Chicago Science Museum (great place) so I
could touch it. Art Arfons and his Green Monster was down in Akron 30 or so
miles away from me, but as a kid it may as well been on the moon.
 
In the 80's I had a customer by Arfons shop in Akron, (small and low budget)
and would look around the place. At the time his son was putting helicopter
turbines in tractor pulling rigs, I think. But still hallow ground for me to
be on.
