And here are before-and-after shots taken in period of a Gr3 car that 
rallied in Italy:

Note in the second photo, the original spoiler has been replaced with a 
home-made kluge with brake cooling ducts, the bumpers are gone, turn signals 
jammed into the holes intended for L-model bumpers....

...come to think of it, it's quite possible this is not two photos of the 
same car, but rather, two different cars.   They are very similar, to be 
sure, but the transition from Pre-L to L model front end and the different paint 
scheme arouses suspicion....

Anyway, it seems the light cluster is probably bolted to the hood, not an 
optimal solution for you.

Here's a factory Gr4 car shown on the Giro d'Italia (Italy's version of the 
Tour de France Auto) which shows the twin round light configuration the Gr4 
cars used for night running:
