[DeTomaso] Ring bolts (again)

I agree, but I read Thomas as meaning long style pressure plate vs.
diaphragm.

When I switched to diaphragm on my 428 Mustang, I had to remove the helper
spring. Mustangs have a stiff helper spring under the dash to help with the
clutch pedal pressure. The diaphragm was soft enough that the helper spring
overpowered it and the pedal went to the floor.

I agree that the weights are gimmicky, and I know the history. But they
don't hurt, either. I consider the McLeod and Centerforce equivalents, so I
choose by cost.

>>>There is no reason to suspect that. McLeod makes a diaghragm-style clutch
that is basically the same as a Centerforce, except without the gimmick weights
(which do nothing BTW...)
