Hi guys,

After several false starts and dashed hopes, I'm happy to report that
factory Campagnolo Gr4 race wheels are once again available, brand new!

Patrick Hals (owner of the famous 'Candy' factory Gr4 race Pantera)
contracted with the world-famous Italian magnesium wheel manufacturer Marvic to
reproduce the original wheels, since Campagnolo is no longer around. A few
years ago, an Italian fellow who bought the original sand-cast wooden molds
for the original wheels attempted to get some made by Marvic, but that project
quickly ran out of steam for a variety of reasons and only a handful were
produced.

These new wheels are being made to the original design, using all-new
molds. They are identical to the originals except for being stamped with the
Marvic name (on the inside), and the material used is far superior to the
originals. They are made using magnesium alloy AZ91 T4 (whatever that means)
with steel inserts for the lug nuts. They can be had with either gold or
silver paint.

The GT5 and GT5-S used 15x10 and 15x13 wheels, while the race cars used
15x10 and 15x14 wheels. The 15x14 wheels were a rare option on street cars,
and the few sets that I've seen trade hands went for about $5000, just for
the rears!

The price for the new wheels is rather eye-watering, at 1500 Euros each for
the 15x10 fronts and 1800 each for the 15x14 rears (plus shipping from his
home in Belgium). Patrick has already sold out most of the first
production run, and only has three sets left, but now that they have been made and
are in buyer's hands, interest is great and he is getting ready to have a
second batch made.

Attached is a photo of a set of wheels (with protective rim covers). For
more information, and additional photos, you can contact Patrick directly at
patrickhals at gmail.com

Cheers!

Mike
