[DeTomaso] Big Bend Open Road Race

Bullshit...
You don't know how I drove while on the other course routes.
The two I mentioned were run in C6 Vettes and I had chances to
push as hard at times as I would have in the race. I was referring to
the course itself. Just because the road is crappy or cruise control
straight doesn't make it or you more of anything for doing it. We, I,
ran a Pantera at BBORR for 8 years straight, and put together a 10
car team too. I'm putting my car back together now and will run it again.

There's no shortage of rooms or other facilities in Ft. Stockton or
Sanderson. The starting lines are nearly within walking distance of
the towns. The towns and locals support it as well as any other
community that holds these things, with free dinners, parades,
school visits etc.

And the road...it's the best of the bunch...that I have driven. It's a good
surface most of the way and all the off camber turns, rock walls, cliffs,
blind crests, bridges, buzzards, wild pigs and 50 something turns in
the last 50 miles don't really bother me...but I've only run a 120 average.
There are some very scary places there because I try to run my average
speed and stay right on it the entire way. That's got me 5 or 6 first places.
I won't put a cage in a Pantera because it's more dangerous with it than without it

And just to update things, I spend 5 days out there every year and guess
what we talk about. It's not just my opinion.
