It's a fascinating car.   Although the engine is made for them by Mercedes, 
it is unique to the Pagani.   It is based on the twin-turbo V-12 in the 
top-of-the-line AMG Mercedes, but the Pagani version has unique (different) 
cylinder heads, different turbos, different exhaust, and is dry sump.

It sounds great when the car first starts, but then after about 20 seconds 
it becomes whisper quiet.   When the rep started it and drove it off the 
stage, I thought he had somehow stalled it shortly after moving, but no...it's 
just eerily quiet, which I guess is a response to ever-stricter Euro noise 
regulations.
