I sold my 96 328i (5-speed E36) with 239,000 miles and it was still going strong.  Engine ran great!  Suspension, brakes and handling were all superb!  And, great forum with other DIY'er's more than willing to share tips, tricks and info to help one another out - much like my Pantera bretheren.  Anyway, replaced the 96 with a 2011 328i, unfortunately with an automatic (concession to the wife).  Truly miss the 5 speed.  Now she'd driving it 90% of the time.  Maybe it's time for a 911 as my daily driver.
