What horrible news!
Is the car pretty stock, or have you done a lot of upgrades?
If the car is totaled maybe you could take off your upgrade pieces and put them on the new car.

That's awful! Hopefully you have agreed-value insurance coverage. If they do
total it, you could buy another Pantera as good as your damaged one, and maybe
buy the damaged one back from the insurance company for a low price. With some
time and effort, you could sell a bunch of parts and end up financially ahead,
even if still emotionally damaged!
Sincerely,
Chris

Subject: [DeTomaso] Really bad day
Earlier this evening, while I was taking my '73L out for a spin, I was rear
ended by a Hummer H3 as I pulled away from a light.
As you can imagine, I'm pretty depressed.
The car is pretty badly hit, buckled the deck, damaged both rear fenders
including popping the paint off the door edge on the passenger side. Of
course, the bumper, and rear valance are toast. I would guess the frame,
rear suspension maybe tweaked, as well.
Frankly, I'm more that a little worried that the car ever be made right.
Anyway, I'm asking for input on shops in Southern California that have a
good reputation and stand the best chance of fixing the car right. Assuming
insurance doesn't total it.
Thanks for any help.
Mike
