Depends on the type of motor.
 
Motors with permanent magnet fields will run  backwards.
 
Motors with coil type field windings will run forward since the  field as 
well as the armature polarity has been reversed.
 
The main  thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Do the best you can with  what you have where you are.
