[DeTomaso] positive ground ?

Many old British cars get converted to a modern negative ground, is that something that would be detriment to the cars value?

Do I just reverse the wires on the coil (red wire to - black wire to +)?  or install as per the instructions? Or throw in the towel and stick to the points?
