You could have a vacuum leak when it is only cold.

Subject: [DeTomaso] NPC Ford 460 FI
Working on an 1990 Ford 450SD with a fuel injected 460. We have done a bit
of work to it and it is running great; except when cold.
When it is cold (60 degree range) I can barely keep it running until it
warms up. Then it runs great.
The Coolant temp sensor modifies the FI for fuel and timing like a choke.
I replaced it and checked the old one. Have not ran it yet cold (too warm
right now) but the old sensor not only ohmed out the same, but after
putting it in the freezer ohmed out correctly to the chart.
What else is going to effect cold operation in that way?
Gary
