[DeTomaso] Speedo cable question

I got home and checked, and sure enough, there it was--the little peg holding the speedometer needle at 10 mph. It is unbelievable to me that after owning the car for six years, tearing it apart several times, including replacing the speedometer cable and all the dash lights within the speedometer (and all the other gauges), and driving the car for 25,000 miles, I was oblivious to the fact the needle never went below 10. Admittedly, I like things that go to 11, but missing that detail after all this time is completely humiliating!
I'm driving to Winthrop this weekend (a Panteras Northwest activity) and am anxious to see if the fix I did on the speedometer/cruise-control sending unit last weekend works for the entire trip.
Thanks again for your help, and please don't tease me too much about my oblivion!
Sincerely,
Chris
