How bright is the light on the end?
Have you tried looking into something similar to a cylinder?

I recently purchased one of these gizmo's from Amazon:

It hooks to a computer via USB, comes with software for Windows, and 
appears to work great!  I've not yet used it on the Pantera, but I'm 
certainly looking forward to it.

It can also be used on a Mac (no software install necessary from what 
I've been told) and Linux (with a free download of video streaming package).


Oh.... .and if you can read this, it might mean the Detomaso email forum 
is back up and running.
