[DeTomaso] e-brake button replacement

Hey dt,
I had the same broken button problem and since I don't have machining capabilities I went to the local hardware store and found that a solder on copper end cap for half inch (I think) copper pipe fit perfectly in the handle.
The spring in the handle holds it in place.
I was going to paint it, but the copper gives the handle a little class, so I polished it. 
It's been there about 10 years now and I don't think anyone has ever noticed.
