[DeTomaso] NPC Ford 460 FI

Water and gas do not mix, so temp change should not matter. Water will
always be at bottom of tank within a minute or so of sitting still. While
in motion, and on bumpy or deeply irregular terrain the fuel and water will
be intermixed in globs. Fuel pickup is stationary in lower portion of tank,
about an inch off the bottom of tank. Fuel injected engines are also more
sensitive to water than carb fuel systems due to fuel injected systems not
having a reservoir of fuel for immediate use (ie float bowl in carb). If
you cannot remove the tank and completely empty it, then run a couple
bottles of gas line de-icer through a tank of gas. The de-icer is alcohol
and will absorb the water.

Truck has a wood plank bed. We bought it for $1200 so it is pretty rough.
It had a lift on it but it was a rough old cable winch lift. I cut it off
and made a rear end for it.

The fuel tank was bad. I got another one with pump form Rock Auto. It was
not right but I made it work. The rubber around the vent on top of the tank
was hard. I think most of it was getting in there.

We got a ton of rain over the weekend. It rained all night one night.

I coated the vent and all connections with that stuff on TV where they turn
a screen door into a boat. I RTV'd the pump bracket as I know I can peal off
the RTV if I have to.

I hauled abut 4000lbs in it today. It's a strong truck as ugly as it is:
