[DeTomaso] Gulf-scheme Pantera coming to auction

The paint job is probably one of the most iconic and recognizable in racing history and actually looks to have been well executed from a quality standpoint, but agreed it does not suit the Pantera. In analyzing it, IMO there is just too much orange by way of the stripe being too wide, the rear tail panel/bumper orange rather than a stripe carry through, the lower mid section and then the orange campi's. Maybe toned down it could work or just the powder blue alone? Perhaps to work it needs a more aggressive stance like GP4 flares would bring?
At an auction estimate of $73 - 89K equivalent it represents a significant investment for anyone who feels it needs repainting.

Hi guys,

I've shared photos of this car before:

The paint job is absolutely vile and has no business on or anywhere near a car like this. But underneath looks to be a pretty nice car. Best bought by somebody who owns his own paint shop, and can fix it right away.

I wonder what it will sell for?

Mike
