WOW!
I did not need to see this.

Hagerty totaled out my '73L (#5326) which was rear-ended by an H3 Hummer a couple of months back
(see my 'Really Bad Day' thread).
I had it insured for well over what it cost and they paid out without a problem; even refunded my
unused premium without me even asking.

They had it auctioned off by Copart a couple of weeks ago and it went for $44,000 to someone in
Florida; more than it cost when I got it a year and half ago when it was in nearly perfect
condition!!!
(Nearly stock: Holley carb, vented front rotors (I think Mustang?), and Hall headers, everything
else was original. Still had the Ford blue stamped valve covers, chrome lid air cleaner, and dual
point dizzy.)
I'm making myself sick here, sorry.

I hope the guy had it looked at by someone local, because the Copart pictures showed right rear
damage, but did NOT show all the damage: left rear fender was also buckled, deck lid damaged on rear
lip and front edge which was driven into the roof damaging the roof and hinge attach points, right
fender driven into passenger door resulting in 'waves' in the door panel, passenger door frame
tweaked to where you could stick all of your fingers between the forward trim on the door and the
door frame due to right front 'A' pillar bent such that where it attached to the cowl was also
distorted.very sad. I'd guess the rear suspension was damaged, too.

Anyway, I had always wanted a Pantera since I first laid my eyes on one at the local Lincoln-Mercury
dealer when I was a kid. Now, I'm pretty much priced out of the market.the couple of cars I've
looked at as a replacement aren't even close to the condition mine was in, have more miles, and much
higher prices; I just didn't have it insured for enough to replace it in kind :-(

IMHO, you'd best be insured for well north of $60K if your car is in decent condition.
Learn from my mistake.

My 2 cents.

Listers,
I received the following:

Dec Sports Car Market Pg90

Reporting result from Auctions America 8/28- 9/1 Auburn, ID
Light Blue /black leather. Odo:13707. Nice blue paint and minimal external trim. Good panel fit.
Tires and wheels look fresh. Grungy engine compartment. Scratches in rear window.
Nothing to gripe about inside. Equipped with AC and Power windows. Cond: 2-: Sold at 56,100.
Now is the time to buy these cars. This result was spot on for the market, and in my opinion has
nowhere to go but up.

This is Pantera #3252, see the registry for pics.
