NEVER, EVER THROUGH ANYTHING YOU CAN'T EASILY BUY ANOTHER ONE OF AWAY!

You are doing vintage events that are sprint races?
Usually there is a time, lap or mileage limit, what is yours?
 Any idea of your mpg?
Full blown NASCAR engine at 875+ hp gets about 5 mpg.
23 laps at a 2.5 mile road course = 57.5 miles IF you had 875 hp, 12 gal would be almost perfect.
Pace laps and caution laps at 2x mpg .
How many gallons do you need?

12 gallons isn't close to being enough, unfortunately, as Patrick Hals found out the first time he took his second Gr4 car to Le Mans Classic. It had a 12 gallon cell and he ran out of gas only about 2/3 of the way through each stint. The sad thing is, the car originally had a nice, proper-sized fuel tank and the previous owner had removed it and chucked it, in an effort to save weight!
