[DeTomaso] Edelbrock Weiand and FlowKooler Water Pumps

The separate, smaller hole in the top right section of a  pump recirculates 
water from the bypass disk which is blocked by the  normal 351C hat style 
thermostat when the engine is at operating  temperature.
 
Attached is a picture of the Edelbrock pump with the bypass  hole.
 
Attached is a picture of the Wieand pump with no bypass  hole.
 
Attached is a picture of the FlowKooler pump with the bypass  hole.
 
If you run a non-hat thermostat with a bypass pump, 25% of the  water will 
recirculate thru the block without going thru the  radiator.
 
If you use a non-hat thermostat with a non-bypass pump (Wieand),  water 
will not recirculate thru the block and the engine will warm  up somewhat 
slower.
 
 
The main  thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Do the best you can with  what you have where you are.
