Thank you - a little of a few greases (elbow included) made them pivot. The stamp on them is "SPHEREBAR" - like a bowling ball material. I guess the fact that I can now move them by hand (not THAT easy-but do-able)is a good thing - no?

How about a special lubricant between the ball and the housing? Or maybe mounting the billet chunk in a vice, slipping the end of the sway bar through it, and gently prying - trying to get a pivoting action, as I am sure it was intended. Penetrating oil? Then pry?

You can take the mount(s) apart and see if there's a burr in the aluminum housing that's causing a tight spot. It's really difficult to machine a section of a perfect spherical socket in metal. Maybe add a thin shim on one side before bolting the housing back together, to create a little more clearance. If a socket was cut too wrong, it may take a LONG time to wear in enough clearance by hand with your vise. If its only one sphere-ball of a pair that's over-tight, you might want to call the vendor before making warranty-voiding changes. Good luck- J DeRyke
