would remove the two center mounts first, then the A-arm mounts.
To install the new one, the best thing to do is have the chassis supported
on jackstands, and have floor jacks positioned under each of the rear
uprights. As the suspension moves through its arc, there is a 'happy spot' where
the A-arm swaybar mounting bracket will line up nicely. Install the
center mounts first (but loosely). That will locate the bar properly
side-to-side. Then position one of the A-arm mounts as best you can. Chances are
it will NOT line up happily with the suspension at full droop. Then you
start jacking the suspension up, and watch how the A-arm moves in relation to
the bracket.
Getting the first one in will likely be easier than the second one. You
may have to resort to using a pry bar to gently bend the swaybar (probably
moving it forward) to get the holes to line up. Using a centering punch in
one of the holes is a good idea; trying to get the thing to line up using the
bolts is just asking for cross-threaded bolts.
The job is infinitely easier with two people!
Once you have the bolts started on both A-arm mounts, you can tighten them
down, and lastly tighten the center mounts. Don't get too rambunctious
with the center nuts, as it's easy to snap off the studs if you do, and then
you've got a whole 'nother project on your hands!
Good luck!
Mike
