[DeTomaso] It was bound to happen

I've owned my Pantera for nearly 15 years now. Yesterday when I went to
start her up, I couldn't. The culprit, the battery. Even after having
a Battery Tender trickle on it for a few days and good water level, she
can't crank the engine more than once.

It's not too surprising though. I've been on borrowed time with this
battery for almost 10 years. You see, the battery that is in my
Pantera, has been there since I purchased it. It's a six year battery,
and it lasted nearly 15 years. That's not too bad. It's not an Optima
or an Odyssey. Just a plain vanilla wet lead-acid sealed-top battery.
May it rest in peace.

This weekend I'll be heading to Sears for a Platinum Die-Hard, that is,
the rebranded Odyssey battery. I've had one in my daily driver now for
over a year and really like it.
