[DeTomaso] Best suitable source for fan wiring upgrade?

All,

Working on upgrading my current draw for fans....and see a few different
options. Was throwing this out for feedback on the most sound method of doing
this....

Options
1) Extend a new wire from the back of the AMP gauge in the dash, out to the
front fan area, and then feed relays.....normal thing. #10 has been
mentioned...
2) Run wire from battery terminal on starter relay up to front.....relays
again....
3) Run wire from rear of alternator output or from regulator output up
front....relay thing......

I believe that I am going to be drawing about double what I had previously.
Using an old Stewart Warner gauge...no idea how accurate, I measured a 6A draw
on my old fans, and an 8-10 on the new fans. Paperwork says that they are 25A
fans (Derale)......each. My amp meter only went up to 10A and I didn't feel
like blowing fuses trying to figure out if they draw more than 10A......so let's

just say that they do......for sake of discussion.....

Issues:
0) It would be nice to have the gauge read actual draw. I don't believe I would

get that with options 2 & 3 above.
1) I am concerned about loading on the gauge.
2) I am concerned about loading on the wiring to the gauge. I do not recall
which relay etc feeds the gauge or if it comes directly from the ignition
switch....need to spend time in the Italian schematics.....(this is on a Goose!)
3) I am concerned about running a hot lead up thru the chassis......but have 50A

fuses available.....that I would put on the source end in the event of something

bad happening that would pinch the wire.

Just interested in hearing pro's and con's here.......

Thanks!
Steve
