[DeTomaso] 1971 chrome side mirrors wanted

I knew they were dealer installed so its really up to the owner but there is something about the rectangular ones that I like, although the sportier ones are very cool as well, I guess its seeing them in the super old Pantera-lincoln mercury dealership ads that makes me like them.  At any rate, I found a PERFECT PERFECT set from a mustang site for 98 bucks a pair with new gaskets and screws and they are on the way to my doorstep.  God bless the POCA forum.  Thanks to all.

These are period correct as well and look much sportier.

My car has been in 4 Concours and twice I was quizzed by judges about mirrors, both times they asked me
if i knew what kind of mirrors came on a Pantera, I said.."None" and they smiled and said "that's right".
so if this is a judging thing, don't worry about it.

Michael

to my knowledge and I'm sure I will be corrected, side mirrors were dealer installed,  s
ome in a weird way, check out the Elvis car, they are mounted way outboard on the front fenders.

>>I'm looking for a set of chrome mirrors in perfect condition, with gaskets,  for my 1971 Pantera.  These are the rectangular ones you typically only see on the drivers side but I'd like one for each side.  I bought one off E-bay and surprise, surprise, it had pitting and the mirror was scratched.  So now I'm starting my search over, this time with people who know what perfect means because they love their cars as much as I love mine.  So, two perfect mirrors and gaskets.  If you have it let me know, or if you dont have it but you know where I can get it.
