Dear Will,

Somehow Apocalypse Now comes to mind…."I love the smell of
napalm in the morning."

                      Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

One moreŠ

I ran for years with no vent, but I had a Permacap from Hall. The permacap
has a spring loaded flapper. You shove the gas nozzle on the flapper to put
gas in the tank. When you remove the nozzle, it springs shut. So, as gas
empties, the flapper allows air to enter the tank, and there's no suction in
the tank. When it gets hot, I'm sure it pressurizes the tank somewhat, but
it never seemed to be a big deal.

I don¹t have a permacap anymore, so I'm going to reinstall a vent, but I'm
putting the vent up high. When I installed the rollover valve, it wasn't
sealed well enough, and it dumped gas onto the ground. Not fun.

And the charcoal canister is for pansies that don't like the smell of
gasoline in the morning.
