Ah the old cam roller question
First my Pantera has a flat tappet solid cam with roller rockers
it only ate one cam so far in 10k miles.. actually lost a rocker nut
then the pushrod ate the cam.. now we have locks.. time to run the valves
again

My Ponitac-a solid roller- turned the rocker on one side and lost the keeper
between the two rollers on the other and also lost the needle bearings
SPRING PRESSURE is very important... RAMP on the cam is also very
important.. Comp cams softened the ramps lowered the lift to 750 .. was 773
and softened the springs.. 700lbs is too much for a street motor... We also
now run isky ez roll solid roller lifters.. no needle bearings to go
wandering where
they don't belong and better for street use.. solid rollers really don't
like to idle
very much as the lubing is bad.. these are supposed to work better.. testing
them as I almost have 1000 miles on the redone motor with fingers crossed

You need a combination that will work as a big ramp is cool but may not
last that long.. We talked about changing to a solid flat tappet or
hydraulic
roller and the Comp Cam boy stated that once I tasted the solid roller I
would not
want to go down to the others.. it revs really quick for a 500 inch motor

My two cents and still testing

Will be racing it in the next few weeks and we will see if all
the parts stay inside
