[DeTomaso] Veglia Amp Gauge Needed

In stock configuration not "all" the current goes through it either.
Under normal conditions only the battery charging current goes through
it. When people start connecting power consumers to the battery + post
things change however.

The hazard comes from allowing the connections to be loose.

At least one Pantera vendor sells an aftermarket ammeter which they say
is
superior to the stock one, claiming that the stock one is a fire hazard.
Nonsense. The hazard comes from the way it is hooked up. The act of
removing the old one and installing a new one (properly) eliminates the
potential
hazard. Checking your connections and making them tight on the old one
does the same thing.

There have been more than a few electrical fires due to owners adding
circuits to the back side of the ammeter (it's a good place to draw
power for
accessories) and failing to ensure the connections were made tightly.
But
that's not the ammeter's fault.
