[DeTomaso] Overheating

I once had an air-lock at the water pump. To get past it, I eventually
had to remove the upper pipe on the thermostat, remove the thermostat,
remove the pulley belt and turn the water pump by hand back and forth
while watching for bubbles and adding coolant at the thermostat until it
was just below the exterior of the block. Then I re-installed the
thermostat and pipe and all was good. I never thought something like
that was real until it happened to me.

An IR heat gun might help you discover that as the temp of the water
pump will probably be very low comparatively.
