I drove Mike Drew's Pantera on the track at the Fun Rally one year. It had BF Goodrich TA's on it and they were w/o a doubt the worst tires I've ever experienced on a high performance car! When you drove my car, the left front swaybar mount had come adrift from the A-arm (bolts simply fell out), so the car was highly imbalanced side-to-side.  I found and fixed it when I got home, so that may have colored your opinion as well?
