Ah yes; well that would have made the crapy tires feel even worse! But I still say those tires sucked! :>)

I drove Mike Drew's Pantera on the track at the Fun Rally one year. It had BF Goodrich TA's on it and they were w/o a doubt the worst tires I've ever experienced on a high performance car! No grip, sidewalls moved all over the place with no consistency or predictability, so definitely take it easy on the way to car shows when running on those tires!

>>>I have to agree--having recently run my car on the track with Hoosier slicks, I can definitely feel a great improvement there. But when the tire pressures are right with the street tires, although the grip is substantially less, you can predict how they will react. Entering a corner, there is a momentary hesitation as the sidewall flexes and the car takes a set, and then it's very predictible after that.

When you drove my car, the left front swaybar mount had come adrift from the A-arm (bolts simply fell out), so the car was highly imbalanced side-to-side. I found and fixed it when I got home, so that may have colored your opinion as well?
