One other suggestion for decklid shocks that may or may not interest you...

Geoff Peters, a weight-obsessed Pantera owner in the UK, has a real 100%
carbon fiber rear decklid. It weighs roughly the same as a small sheet of
paper. 

He removed the decklid shocks altogether (partly to save weight) and uses a
pole to hold the decklid open, with a clip on each end so that it can't be
inadvertently bumped out of place. 

Depending on much your fiberglass decklid weighs, one option might be to
eliminate the shocks if that interests you - it's simple.
