I don't think they pull any vacuum at all at idle.  That's one of the
disadvantages of them.  Try it at 3000RPM and see if it's different.
It's supposed to pull enough to prevent detonation caused by
contamination while running down the drag strip.  I have loosely
sprung piston rings and polished cylinders in my Cougar and PVC
control is difficult and honestly I've only been considering the
modification.  I also know a couple of drag racers that use a pump off
the accessory belt system to evacuate the crankcase.
