[DeTomaso] Panther Radio Plate

I think I have an original. How does yours attach? Are there two plastic pegs on the back that use a barbed push type fastener to secure the backing strips that sandwich it to the console?

Also, how does the repro plates compare to the originals? Mine is a little tired and have thought about replacing it with a repro.

Can some one tell me if the original plate was metal or not and how it was
ttached. Most cover plates I am used to have a couple of rectangular backing
trips (slightly wider than the opening) with screws that fasten the cover
ecurely over the opening from the back. Thanks
