Also, it looks like the new owner has not yet sent in a few fresh photos of
the car yet...

The fact that the rear rims are 14.5" wide on the outside and have more
than 8" of backspacing indicates that they don't fit a stock rear
spindle/upright without a serious spacer.

When he was running a modified Pantera, JR never used wheel flairs or an
air dam. The air dam wasn't needed with the GT-40-style front hood. I
remember 
him saying that he made a set of wheels for one of his racers from
scratch. 
I also remember at least one of his Panteras ran no inner fenders with
the 
tube frame & custom suspension. So check those offsets and widths
closely.
