expensive ones, like Roland and Mr. Fiat sell, are original, and expensive, and
right. Some of the cheaper ones out there actually come with an instruction
sheet telling you how to cut them up to make them perhaps work, which does
not inspire confidence!
Lots of people here have had bad experience with the latter.
I would suggest that if your original gasket is still moderately useable,
that plus a healthy supply of 3M windshield sealer (NOT conventional
silicone, but rather the 3M product made specifically for sealing windshields)
should see you through.
Others have advised to defer to the experience of professional glass
installers, and I would agree with that.
FWIW once upon a time I bought a new windshield rubber for a replacement
windshield for my VW Scirocco, and the glass shop preferred to reuse the
original rubber, saying it was a better fit.
