you shouldn't malign the "liberal press". [sic]  the fact is the press is not liberal.  and the fact is that most liberals are actually quite appalled by the present ethanol laws, for several reasons:
- gas mileage is negatively impacted.
- wehicles' maintenance/reliability is negatively impacted.

- it takes more energy to produce ethanol than is saved by not using pure gas.
- it is another source of federally funded welfare for the big corporations and the rich.
- it drives up food prices and takes food out of the mouths of the lower classes and the poor.
- it is extremely enwironmentally unfriendly.
it is the right-wing big-ag biz interests that are the ones pushing ethanol-based fuels...
