[DeTomaso] Two things ??

Julian, I experienced the same. Bought a California cover for the Pantera,
supposed to be custom fit, even ordered red Pantera script, big spender. I
have a perfect cover for my 68 Camaro bought 15 years ago from a Classic
Industries, fits like a glove, expected at least the same quality, but got
thin material, way too big cover. The script was sewn on, but with a large
patch on the inside. I complained about the lack of fit, they wanted
pictures, as soon as they saw them, I got my money back. I guess it would
fit a wide body L fine, but not my narrow body pre L. And the material was
thin, the Camaro cover is thick and the inner is mousehair/velvet like, soft
and nice, the California Pantera cover is just the same fabric in and out. I
paid approx. $250 for both covers, though of course $250 was more 15 years
ago.

Willing to pay for a quality fitting cover, but don't know where to get it.
Especially now that it's soon repainted.

Mikael

As a counterpoint, I bought a California Car Cover indoor cover based on
Fred Terry's recommendation. I'm quite happy with mine.

It fits my car like a glove - it is specifically made for a GT5-S with a
delta wing. If you search the archives, you can read that Fred had some
initial issues with the fitment, and he reported that CCC's customer service
was extremely good in re-making and re-measuring and re-making the cover
until he was satisfied. This was probably 10 years ago and mine fit
perfectly out of the box.

Just another reference....

I purchased California Car Covers top of the line outdoor cover for my son's
Mustang which sits in the driveway mostly now he is away at College. I have
to say I was and am pretty disappointed with what I got for the price, it's
a thin cover that at the slightest breeze wants to blow off the car (even
though I have the under car tie cable) and when it is on constantly is
flapping against the paint, despite being a custom fit for make & model.

I had a real nice cover previously for my wife's MG and that was a thick
durable cover, with an outer reflective layer that was ideal for the NV
desert sun and that cover fitted like a glove and weathered all conditions.
FWIW I got it from Moss Motors, but I see it was a Silverguard by Cover
King.

With the full capsules in a humid environment you probably want to get one
that connects to a small dehumidifier that runs constantly.

Julian
