We have E85, but you can't use that in non-flexfuel cars, or converted cars.

You need about 30% more E85 than E5 for the same amount of work.

My daughter has a VW Golf Multifuel, than runs on anything between E0
and E85, and it consumes about 7l/100km on E5, but around 10l/100km on E85.

I did an experiment on the Pantera, where I had three different EFI
tunes (I can select up to 5 different tunes with a rotary switch). I
started out with around 30% E85 and 70% E5, and I drove it up to the
cabin, and I filled it with 100% E85 in the last major city before I
arrived, and it ran good, but promptly blew a head gasket :(

The only thing I changed in the tune was to lie to the engine management
box that the injectors were smaller than they really are, so it
calculated it needed longer duty-cycle to inject the correct amount of fuel.

I'm not really blaming the fuel, but it was within about 30 km:s since I
had filled it up with E85.

I haven't experimented with E85 since ;)

Cheers,
Thomas
