Closing a track doesn't mean it isn't still useable. My son took his racing 
license rides with the AFM at Riverside Raceway in So-Cal, 3 YEARS after they 
went bankrupt and closed "forever". Big-time sanctioning bodies won't schedule 
on a closed up track, but others do and whoever the owner is (even banks), 
they're usually glad of help paying the taxes that still come in. FWIW- J
