Is Days of Thunder any good?

I've never seen it but others have expressed their approval.

Tom Cruise is a bigshot so there must be a measure of quality implied by the projects he takes on. Duvall is a good actor also...

Onboard footage? Sound? 

Is it worth the 90 min investment when I could be on the tennis court or fondling a set of headers?

All the same movie, just different settings and modes of transport.  Just sayin!
