Big farm Tractors use this system too and if it stops working you'll plug an air cleaner in just a few hours in a dusty field.

Failed to mention earlier, there are infinity of military vehicles that use a venturi / draft tube arrangement on the exhaust pipe to suck dirt out of the air cleaner pre-cleaner, another data point.

Think you'd want to put the miniature draft tubes as close to the exhaust outlets as possible, where the pressure is lowest but velocity the same.

I think it may work well on my application.  I have 2.25" exhaust so velocity at idle will be pretty good.  And I don't need much PVC at idle, but it really squirts my dipstick out (read that however you
like) when I lay the hammer down.
