Julian made a good point. How old is your son Jerry? What does he want (in a
"Toy"). What's his budget? Is he concerned with his investment? There are
lots of cool cars that you can buy, play with and make money on (or not lose
quite as much) Then there are those that are a hole your pour money in to.
Almost any new car and most kit cars (except maybe some of the GT-40
replicas or a Kirkham Cobra.) Factory fives you can buy already built and
let the builder take the hit. There are some good deals that should retain
the value you pay if you get a good deal from the builder. I would be more
inclined to steer him toward a legitimate collectible that will perform on
the road and the portfolio.No reason to throw money away.
