[DeTomaso] Engine Break In - Oil Pump Prime

Chance,
You are sucking on air or creating a vacuum not oil movement in the dry pump housing. Did you fill the filter with oil? You need to have oil or moly lube break in grease inside the pump for a proper first spin and suck and pump. Instead of removing the oil pan try this, run the pump backwards while sucking on a container of oil that is hose plumed to the oil filter housing pumped inlet hole. That way you can oil up the pump and give it the hydrostatic seal that it needs to work when you spin it correct direction and watch your oil tank fill up.
